Het eerste artikel is de casestudy van Olivier Ameisen, die het eerste geval beschrijft van volledige onderdrukking van alcoholisme in de medische literatuur. De twee daarop volgende casestudy's beschrijven eveneens hoe baclofen, dosisafhankelijk, alcoholisme heeft onderdrukt. De drie casestudy's worden gevolgd door samenvattingen en artikelen over verwante onderwerpen: het vermogen van een lage dosis baclofen om hunkering naar alcohol en angst te verminderen; de onderdrukking door baclofen, afhankelijk van de dosis, van de aandrang om cocaïne, heroïne, alcohol, nicotine en amfetamine te consumeren in dierproeven; de veiligheid op de lange termijn van hoge doses baclofen bij symptoombestrijding in de neurologie; de overstelpende prevalentie van eerder bestaande angst- en stemmingsstoornissen bij verslaafde patiënten, die de noodzaak aantonen van een medicijn dat eveneens uitwerking heeft op de onderliggende dysforie bij verslaving, zoals baclofen; en de mogelijkheid dat een van de redenen van de werkzaamheid van baclofen als medicijn tegen verslaving is dat het een gebrek aan GHB compenseert, een natuurlijke stof in het lichaam die op veel plaatsen werkzaam is.
